The year is 2023. The world is slowly rebuilding from the chaos of the helicarrier attack in
2009 that wiped out 80% of the mutant population. As an evolutionary response, mutants'
powers are forming at a younger age, and in an attempt to keep them in check and
maintain power, HYDRA-controlled SHIELD has launched relocation programs to District X,
which is located in the ruins of what was once New York.
With X-Factor fighting for the rights of their fellow mutants and the Mutant Liberation
Front interested in nothing more than mutant supremacy after their mistreatment, even
the resistance is divided. SHIELD rules with an iron fist, deploying their specially-trained
Sentinel Services mutants to hunt their own kind and crush their opposition.
As long as the hopeful remain strong, SHIELD will never truly win. Will you stand and fight,
or fall in line?
